Starting my travels with some self discovery
Understanding our shadow self, books on prioritization, and some really bad nostalgic inventions

Ahoy friend!
I have a secret to share with you. I haven't really traveled solo before this Eat, Pray, Love trip and I kind of threw myself into the deep end. I spent a few days roaming Miami solo, exploring beaches 🏖, getting eaten up by mosquitos 🦟 and I absolutely love it. For the first time, I am finally falling in love with myself.
This week, I'm on a cruise ship sailing around the Caribbean. Although not a meditation retreat, I am relaxing, writing, and enjoying this wonderful production. I'm letting go of boundaries and easing into this whole experience.

The mindful tip for this week is understanding our Shadow Side. Especially when I feel very anxious and upset, a side of me comes out that I am not too proud of. By asking (1) When am I at my worst and (2) What do these moments have in common, I can start to learn and embrace my shadow side.
For the Book Lover
Just discovered Talk to Books by Google. You ask a question and the website scours a gigantic archive for related passages.
I searched "how to be more mindful" and got a lot of great excerpts from books I’ve never read!
For those Seeking Priority
The Pumpkin Plan was brought to my attention through a podcast (of course) and it makes total sense. The book talks about growing a prize-winning pumpkin and relates it to our everyday life. First, you start with a prize-winning seed (an idea). Second, you plant it in good soil (hard work). Third, and extremely critical, cut off all other pumpkins growing on the vine. I love the way the author puts it - "cut off all distractions disguised as opportunities".
This makes me think - what is my pumpkin?
For the Nostalgic Inventor
This was hilarious. CB Insights published 141 of the worst inventions of all time and a throwback to nostalgic products.

As always, thanks for reading!
