It's finally here - my big announcement!
Announcing my podcast, an artists' paradise, being more mindful consumers, podcast I was recently on
Hi friend!
So I am so excited to announce this week the launch of my podcast, Yellow Glitter!!

Since I mentioned a few newsletters ago on how I might be pivoting my content towards more of a queer and Asian lens - here it is. Each episode will dig into these two parts of myself that I have struggled to make sense of all my life. I've searched high and low everywhere online, and I have yet to see content that is focused on these topics together with a mindfulness lens. I've since discovered a few, including "Memoirs of a Gaysian Podcast," which never has any Asian co-hosts (hmm...) and "The Gaysian Podcast," which is similar but hosted by a queer Asian woman.
There were so many other ideas I tossed around. For starters, this podcast was almost called "A Mindful Thought" or "Mindful Musings". And as for the logo and photo, I was debating on using a unicorn flying across with a yellow glitter trail. (really) Something about Yellow Glitter really stuck... so here it is!
Two episodes are out right now. Episode 1 is a short clip talking about how I was inspired (TLDR: my mindfulness journey around the world lacking Asian and LGBTQ+ representation). Episode 2 is where I dig deep into myself to talk about my struggles as a gay Asian man here in America. I touch on racism (both external and internal), the lack of foreign languages here in the States, my dating life, and so much more. I hope these episodes will help you if you identify as Asian, LGBTQ+, or curious to learn more about these cultures. So many stories and insights in each episode!

And if I could ask for one favor: please rate & review the podcast (especially on iTunes). I would love to get this out everywhere, and the ratings help tremendously. Thank you in advance, and I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think!

PS - So grateful to all of my friends that have inspired me to do this, especially Victoria. Thank you, love!
A show that sparked my creativity
Just recently watched a docuseries on Showtime about Shangri-La, the residence of one of the most iconic music producers of our time, Rick Ruben. He's worked with the likes of Johnny Cash, Run-DMC, Adele, and Mac Miller in his iconic artist residence/recording studio. The story of his life is such an inspiration, and the love he has for music is something special.
His creative process made me think of so many questions: How can I clear my surroundings to focus on the craft? How might I push the boundaries of what is socially acceptable? How can I find true love in the process?
If you are a creative individual, I highly recommend it. The cinematography and music are both spot-on.
An app that I can’t stop sharing
When it comes to politics, the most significant impact you or I can make is with our dollars. I recently was introduced to this app called Goods Unite Us, and I've been telling everyone about it. You can search by politicians and see the companies funding them, or search by company to see their donation breakdown. Eye-opening, to say the least…
Speaking of shopping…
Crack the shopping code! Did you know that price tags say more about the product than you might think? For example, if the price ends in $X.X8, it was reduced for the first time at Target. Rather-be-shopping runs a full list of all the codes on their blog. It seems like price tags ending in 9s are terrible deals, and anything ending with a 7 is generally a great deal. Great knowledge for your next trip to a big-box retailer. (Though maybe check Goods Unite Us first)
A podcast I was recently on
My lovely friend Victoria invited me onto her podcast, Vibrant Raw Living, to talk about my journey... and we get into it!
I talk about traveling around the world, coming to terms with my sexuality, overcoming depression, stepping away from my job, understanding "easy fixes" in western culture, understanding how advertising works, and so much more. 🎧
Don't forget to check out her other episodes. A lot of great stuff and mind-expanding content.
