Hi friend,
Are we already 3 weeks into this year? How have your resolutions been coming along this year?
I confess. I am a self-help book junkie. From Tony Robbins to Tim Ferriss, I can't help but to salivate at any opportunity to refine or "hack" my life. When it comes to setting resolutions and goals, this has been a process I've been evolving for years.
Out of all 3 recommendations in my video, I've noticed the biggest impact after incorporating regular, consistent reflections. Every Sunday is a retrospective day where I can take a look at how the previous week went and score my goals for the year.
Do you have any tips for goal-setting and achieving them as well?
A Book I'm Floored By
This has got to be one of my most eye-opening books I've read to date. Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene is practically a user guide to understanding everyone around you.
In a nutshell, we can dramatically improve our relationships by truly understanding the root causes of the behaviors all around us. The way people react to us have nothing to do with us - as much as it is with them living their own truth with their own baggage.
Long read, but so worth it.
My Go-To Podcast
If there is one podcast that I listen to each episode religiously, it's Christine Hassler's Over & On With It. She's an extremely intuitive life coach that helps callers with their life's problems. I've shared this podcast with many of my close friends and they are all HOOKED.
Her last caller called regarding an issue with sleeping earlier (I made a video on this early last year). After some back and forth, the problem was not being able to sleep earlier. The caller was not actually not being kind enough to herself.
After listening to hundeds of her episodes, the one thing that resonates is that we're all more alike than we think. Sure, we may have our own unique problems and life circumstances, but we are all working through life's trauma.
Go through her list of episodes and I'm sure you'll find one you resonate with.
On Decluttering (part 2):
From last week, got an astounding amount of replies back to help declutter. (thank you!) Some places to drop off your old stuff:
Catalogues and unwanted mail: Catalog Choice removes unwanted junk mail from your mailbox. Reduces headaches and helps the environment.
Clothes & fabric: H&M will recycle your old clothing. Their other stores Monki and & Other Stories will as well.
Shoes: Nike will recycle your old shoes into playground equiptment
Comforter, pillows and sheets: Your local humane society will use them on their little ones
Books: Your local library will accepts hardcover and paperback books in good condition. If it's not so good, libraries often have a "friends of library organization that will accept books, CDs and tapes.
A lot of you are raving about the show - yes! For anyone else who hasn't watched Marie Kondo's new show on Netflix, do it. You'll be inspired.
I absolutely love your tips and tricks. Keep 'em coming!
